The body found between Middletown and Three Mile Island is Miguel Maldonado Jr., 36, his wife, Andrea Maldonado told the outlet, identifying him by his tattoo.

Maldonado Jr. was shot by police after he stabbed his wife, then took his wife and child into his car and drove into the river near the Dock Street Dam around 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 16, the Dauphin County district attorney Fran Chardo said at the time.

Officials have not confirmed the identity or released any statement on the body found to the press. The cause and manner of death of the body are pending an autopsy.

In the days following the discovery of his body, his family told Daily Voice:

"This has been a horrible ordeal for all of us who loved him and I would like to focus on the better days."
